2 April 2000 letter from Reunion Co-Chair John Haug
Greetings Syosset '65 Classmates,
The 35th class reunion arrangements are coming together well. We
believe that the Metropolitan in Glen Cove will prove to be an
excellent reunion location. We'd appreciate a note of confirmation,
with your check, as soon as possible . The $140 represents the
cost of (only) the reunion itself - Sat Aug. 5.
Co-chair Susan Krueger Terranova has engaged a DJ who specializes
in 60's music. Send your song requests with your reply/confirmation
-- and, check out Hal Muskat's Syosset reunion pages on his Web
site (click) to
see a list of songs others have suggested. And, while you're at it,
check out the photos. Great job, Hal.
Attire? In the past people have, in general, dressed in semi-formal/
cocktail clothes. But, come in whatever you're comfortable wearing.
The class of '65 never did conform...
Some of you have asked about other activities that can be planned
to extend the reunion experience throughout the weekend. Last year
some of us met at Coco's in Huntington for informal cocktails on
Friday night. This year we're trying to make arrangements for a
section of Coco's to be roped off for the class.
In addition, Susan has offered to host a brunch catered at her
home in Syosset on Sunday Aug. 6. She needs an approximate number
of interested people to go forward. Please RSVP Susan as soon
as you can.
We've contacted more classmates than ever before and, thanks to
John Betts, e-mail and all of you who have provided addresses,
we've found many of the "unfindable"/missing from previous reunions.
But, there are still about 200. We'll post a list on the Web site.
For those of you still undecided about attending--for whatever
reason--this is a night for sharing and reminiscing about our
lives in easier times. Everyone feels some reluctance. This
reunion may give you the opportunity to remember the good times in
grade schools/high school, share stories, discover common interests,
laugh, catch up with old friends and even make new ones.
We're aware that some of you would like to attend this reunion but
find it financially difficult at this time. Please contact
John Haug or
Susan Krueger.
